Where will you stay

Host Family, Self Catering or Student Residence

We offer several types of accommodation : the choice is yours and will  depend on the budget or the amount of money you have available. Students usually stay in either self-catering apartments, student residence or with host families. You may choose between, Host family, Sharing a self catering apartment, Living in a Student Residence, staying in a hotel or bed and breakfast. Most of the accommodation is within a 20 minute walk from the town centre and all are on bus routes.

   

Host family accommodation

  • Offers the student the opportunity to live as a part of a local family, enjoy their hospitality, English meals and their social life.
  • It is also an excellent opportunity for the student to practice their English in the family environment.
  • Those that choose to stay with host families are offered the option of either half board (breakfast and evening meal or full board (breakfast, lunch and evening meals 7 days a week).
  • All of our families are committed to giving students excellent value for money and they encourage you to live as part of their family.
  • Our Host Families have made lasting  friendships with their students, many of the students return to the UK just to revisit the family again.
  • Accommodation can be arranged exactly to your requirements. 
  • For example as long as you tell us if you are vegetarian we will provide a Host Family that will provide you with vegetarian meals.
  • If you are allergic to animals  we  will place you with a family that does not have pets.
  • You can choose between a single or shared twin bedded room.
  • Please be aware that a single room will be far  more expensive

Self-catering

  • means living in an apartment or shared house. You will be expected to cook and clean  for yourself.
  • You can choose between a shared twin bedded  room, single room, or a self-contained apartment.
  • Those staying in self-catering apartments exchange  cultural and linguistic experiences with other young people from  Europe and the rest of the world.
  • English language is the common language used in most apartments, houses or the student residence
  • If you would like us to provide a Food and Drink parcel for the first couple of days then please ask before you arrive.

Student Residence 

  • Our student residence is situated close to Torquay town centre, approximately 10 minutes walking.
  • The residence has a large lounge where the students can watch TV/DVD, play music.
  • We have a separate area where internet access is available.
  • There is also a bar/meeting room where the students can  talk quietly or study.
  • Meals are served in a separate well equipped dining area seating approximately 25 people.
  • With the exception of 2 rooms students  share bedrooms and facilities.
  • Most of the bedrooms have an en suite shower.
