Management and monitoring

Why do I need to be  Managed?

Management is another name for support, this  means that The Training Partnership will support educational establishments, students and internship providers 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

  • Many internship Providers in the UK are reluctant to offer work placements unless they know they have the full support of a professional organisation such as The Training Partnership.
  • Most students do not appreciate that it takes time and patience to arrange work placements - in many cases we have to find the right company, contact the right person and then wait maybe 2 - 3 weeks before they say  yes or no to your application.
  • We make sure your personality and skills suit the placement you will be going to.
  • We inspire confidence in the internship provider by discussing your application in detail, we identify the type of work you will do and we ask the work placement provider to assit us in planning your internship.
  • We manage the internship for the entire period - from the first day to the last day.
  • We are here if the student has a problem with the internship or if the internship provider has a problem with the student.
  • The Training Partnership holds both the student and the internship provider safely in their hands, we are able to intervene if there is a problem and in most cases assist in resolving any issues.
  • Many of the Universities and colleges we work with require complicated documents to be signed on behalf of the students. We make this task pain free and take responsibility for all contractual procedures concerning "paperwork". The Europass is a perfect example.
  • We ensure that the internship provider has the right attitude and is happy to accept the student for the right reasons and at all times will show them respect.
  • We are here to make sure your internship is a success - for you -for your university or college and for The Training Partnership.

What is our objective?

To ensure that we provide a high quality service, and identify areas where we can improve and develop, we ask all Students and Delegates to complete an evaluation questionnaire. These documents are collected after the second or third week of arrival and evaluated by the staff.  If there is a problem we can then act immediately and resolve the problem.

We operate an open door policy, this gives everyone the opportunity to  ask relevant questions and discuss issues or problems they may be experiencing.  We employ a fully trained student counsellor who is ready to assist at any time.

How will I be monitored?

  • Monitoring is ongoing  throughout the internship period.
  • Once a  week The Training Partnership staff hold a meeting and discuss every student undertaking work experience, this enables us to monitor weekly everyones performance.
  • We are in constant contact with our internship providers, and frequently telephone to ask  how the student is progressing.
  • Every week we hold a weekly student meeting, this gives us the opportunity to speak to anyone who needs help or assistance. The meeting also enables us to introduce newly arrived students to each other.
  • Our internship Officer will visit the student and evaluate (with the internship provider) the performance of the student.
  • Each student has a file that documents the students activities,  this enables us to prepare your final report.
  • On completion of the training period each student is presented with a Certificate of Work Experience and details their Work Placement activities and the contribution they have made to the organisation they worked for.
